A week of travel
...has kept me from writing. I have stopped in Eugene, Portland and Olympia; tomorrow I shall stand in view of Vancouver and admire the view of the Straits from Victoria, before returning to Seattle and southward again. The weather has been fine, but cold. I shall post pictures once my affairs are settled.

So close! It was beautiful today, wasn't it.
Aye, though I saw the sun rise behind Mount Ranier, the sky closed in quickly, and my journey from Port Angeles to Olympia today was in darkness. I shall spend the morrow in Seattle, but I fear a proper tour of the Olympic Peninsula must await a return visit and better weather.
A friend and I once climbed one of the mountains in the Olympic range. I climbed barefoot after a while because I had used heavy leather hiking boots which hurt my feet more than the rocks. After a long ascent, we arrived at an alpine meadow. The clouds were just overhead, and it was lightly snowing. There were thousands of beautiful flowers and the air was sweet and soft.
ooo - was that my comment you deleted or did the blog eat it? Or did I not leave one?
Twas spam from Japan. Picasso said, “There is no abstract art. You must always start with something. Afterward you can remove all traces of reality.” I would rather remove all traces of reality before removing a comment from you, dear friend.
